The History of EPLive

The concept of EPLive was born in 2012.  Dr. Andrea Natale created and developed EPLive to be able to share his expertise, to keep learning and improving, along with other esteemed colleagues, regarding the best EP techniques so that our patients can benefit from the best available care.

Dr. Andrea Natale was the first cardiac electrophysiologist in the USA to be invited by the Heart Rhythm Society to perform live cases from the Cleveland Clinic where he was Section Head for Cardiac Electrophysiology.

Cases were simultaneously broadcast during the HRS sessions held in Washington, DC.

He has always been passionate about education and the training of young cardiac electrophysiologists to be the best at what they do in order to deliver superior care to their patients.

Electrophysiology is a challenging field and one has to continuously upgrade thei clinic and procedural skills. Although still useful, the traditional format of a lecture has some limitations. EPLive goes far beyond and shows the cardiac electrophysiologist how to perform procedures, while at the same time interacting with the operators live while asking questions and dispelling doubts, in a synergistic collaborative fashion.

Dr. Natale organized the first EPLive held in Austin on March 1-2, 2012, in the state-of-the-art EP laboratories located at the Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute at St. David's Medical Center in Austin. Since that time Dr. Natale has organized and produced EPLive Austin every other year.

EPLive was so well received that it has expanded to other parts of the world to help meet the demands and needs of local EP specialists.

The following locations have hosted EPLive:
EPLive Milano 2017 & 2019
EPLive India 2019
EPLive Latin America – 2016 & 2018
